Broken Axle

The front drive shaft on Jeep Grand Cherokees are a weak point, especially once you get some lift on the jeep. The fix is to replace it with a universal joint style drive shaft.

Here is the stock WJ front CV style drive shaft.

The stock yoke at the differential and at the transfer case must be changed to accept the double cardan joint and universal joints.

Here is the new yoke at the differential. The transfer case yoke is similar.

Here is the stock drive shaft and yokes next to the new drive shaft and yokes.
