The front D30 and D44's have the axle seals inboard by the carrier. This allows dirt and water to accumulate in the axle tube next to the seals, eventually leading to their failure. |

The dirt coats everything! |

These axle sleeves increase the strength of the axle tubes and add a seal at the outer end of the tube far away from the axle seals. |

|
The tube must be drilled in several locations to weld the sleeve in place. |
|

The sleeves are welded at the ends too. The new seal at the end can be greased! |

All reassembled with a splash of paint on all the bare metal, this Jeep is ready for some wheeling! |
